The Beautiful Blogger Award

The Beautiful Blogger Award was given to me by a blogger that I recently discovered who keeps a blog called Style Wilderness. I'm not certain what the award implies, to be fair, but I thought I'd play along anyway for the fun of it.

The rules of the “award” are vague but I’ve concluded that I should be telling you, the readers, ten things about myself that you possibly might not know and then award some other bloggers at the end. "En svensk och amerikansk sommar i Finland"

A few weeks ago on a very early Friday morning, Carl Johan was in transit to his job, crossing a very barren Medborgarplatsen, when he made eye contact with a Finnish man with a microphone and camera crew in tow. Although he used his very best maneuvering skills, the Finns were far better, stepping in and asking him if he'd like to go to Finland for the weekend to be on a television show called "En svensk sommar i Finland."

Hey Livejournalers if there's any of you still out there,

I'm going to be testing out some things for fun so you'll be seeing posts here for a bit again. My current blog, The Life & Times of Ollie Crafoord, is really great but I've really missed some of my LJ friends who I liked to chat with on my comments pages. I thought it might be nice if I started posting snippets of the things I write over here so that if you're interested, you could easily see and chat again. Reasons of Relocating, 1, 2, 3

Dear LJ-ers,

I want to redirect you over to my new blog. I won't be writing from here any more but, happily, you can still read and comment over at the other one. All you have to do is type in your name and e-mail address plus a comment and submit. So no problems there, right?

Here, all of my previous entries will, sadly, be made into private entries but luckily, if you were wanting to read something from a thousand years ago, they'll all be over at the other blog. Just click through, click through. They are all there.

One reason for such a move is that I am moving in the real life world on June 18th to Sweden and wanted a very proper place to record my photos, travels, and reviews that I will definitely be making starting next week when I go on holiday.

Another more serious reason is that LiveJournal policies severely restrict the kind of things I am allowed to publish; for instance, I cannot publish content about ebay sellers scamming people (and myself) out of money and posting the persons' ebay ID (truth!) without having my entry suspended and purged of information. LiveJournal can remove content (and have) without allowing me to save said content and I find this very unfair. People should be notified before a service starts deleting all kinds of things in their own blog. Also, on another hand, LiveJournal's service has become very shoddy and very biased (you will have noticed that I'm not the only person leaving LJ). Therefore, I have gone to hosting my own blog where, if a person wishes me to remove content, they can contact me.

After many years of being a faithful LJ-supporter, and after several months of serious thought after watching a decent journal-hosting site go downhill, I've decided this is the correct decision. LiveJournal is a thing of the past.
